This small Village is nestled in the hills of Allegany County, part of the Appalachian Mountain foothills.  Elevations range to over 2,000 feet in the surrounding hills while gentle Angelica Creek makes its way to the nearby Genesee River.  The downtown reminds many visitors of the New England they remember from generations ago.  The Village was the first community in the Allegany County frontier lands of early 1800's and retains much of its original layout. The Village offers a nice walking area and with low traffic volumes it is a safe area to walk and bicycle. The Main Street offers wide shoulders to bicycle and routes along the neighboring County roads take bicyclists on roads that offer vistas and rural scenes. Benches are available along Main Street and in the Park Circle to rest and soak in the small town ambiance. The Village is also the site of the Allegany County Fair Grounds. Nearby State Forests offer many hiking, equestrian, snowmobile and skiing opportunities.  Waterways Resort makes it's home along the border of Angelica & Belfast with 27 holes of golf and an Irish Pub/Restaurant.  Swain Ski Resort is less than 30 minutes from Angelica and offers downhill skiing, snowboarding, tubing during the winter months.  Also Mountain Biking utilizing the chair lifts during the summer months at Swain.  Live music is available every weekend at Black Eyed Susan's Acoustic Cafe on Main Street.  The summer brings Music in the Park most Wednesday evenings 7pm and a great Farmer's Market every Saturday 10am - 2pm.
